Marine Weather Intelligence at GITEX 2025

Marine Weather Intelligence joined GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai with the ZEBOX delegation to showcase its AI-powered maritime routing technology — “a sort of Waze for the sea.” CEO Christian Dumard presented MWI live on BFM Business – TECH&CO, highlighting how the company helps ships sail safer and more efficiently while expanding global partnerships.

From 12 to 15 October 2025, Marine Weather Intelligence took part in GITEX Global in Dubai, one of the world’s largest and most influential technology exhibitions.
As part of the ZEBOX delegation, the international innovation accelerator founded by the CMA CGM Group. MWI joined eight other startups representing the forefront of European deeptech, decarbonisation, and digital innovation.

A vibrant hub for innovation

This year’s GITEX brought together more than 200,000 visitors, 1,500 investors, and industry leaders from around the globe. The event gave MWI a unique opportunity to showcase its technology. It also allowed the company to meet potential partners and explore new collaborations in the rapidly growing MENA maritime and offshore sectors.

MWI in the spotlight on BFM Business

During the exhibition, Christian Dumard, CEO and co-founder of Marine Weather Intelligence, was invited on BFM Business – TECH&CO, live from GITEX, to present the company’s vision for intelligent maritime routing.

In the interview, Christian Dumard described MWI as “a sort of Waze for the sea.”
By combining artificial intelligence, satellite data and oceanographic models, MWI provides real-time insights that help ships optimise their routes, improve safety, and reduce fuel consumption.

“Our aim is to make life easier for captains and crews,” explains Christian.
“We use AI to forecast evolving weather patterns and help ships choose safer, more efficient routes, avoiding heavy seas, storms and strong winds.”

Building partnerships

Throughout GITEX, our CEO met with clients, investors, and technical partners from around the world. This included representatives from the offshore energy and superyacht sectors. They discussed future projects and collaborations.

MWI has already established partnerships with IFREMER and the European Space Agency. MWI continues to strengthen its international network while preparing for the next stage of growth.
