Marine Weather Intelligence was awarded the Category III: Ocean Intelligence & Autonomous Systems prize at BlueInvest 2025, an initiative by the European Commission that promotes innovation and investment in the blue economy.
Held in Brussels, BlueInvest brought together leading startups and investors from across Europe working in ocean and maritime sectors. For MWI, this recognition marks an important step forward in our work to improve safety, efficiency and sustainability at sea.
Recognition for applied innovation
The award highlights the practical value of our technology in supporting weather-sensitive operations at sea. Our tools combine accurate marine forecasting with operational intelligence, helping maritime operators make better decisions, reduce risk and lower emissions.
Being recognised among a strong field of European innovators is a meaningful validation of our work to support safer and more efficient maritime activity through data-driven solutions.
New momentum for growth and collaboration
Participation in BlueInvest has already created new opportunities to engage with partners and investors aligned with our mission. It’s helping us build new relationships across the industry and extend the reach of our solutions to new use cases and markets.
We continue to work closely with offshore operators, ports, and shipping companies who are investing in digital tools to support performance, safety and environmental goals. In parallel, we are preparing to launch the e-commerce site for MWI Yachting, a new service that brings our forecasting expertise to the yachting community.
Backed by the European Commission
BlueInvest, supported by the European Commission, plays a key role in strengthening Europe’s maritime innovation landscape. By connecting high-potential startups with industry and capital, the programme supports the development of sustainable, scalable technologies across the blue economy.
We thank the organisers of BlueInvest, the European Commission, and the broader community of participants for their support and collaboration throughout the 2025 edition.
